7 Benefits to Choosing Your Clients

77% of caregivers say that good relationships with the client and their family is the most important factor when considering job satisfaction.

At Alto, we believe in empowering caregivers to control their schedule, set their own hourly rate, and choose their own clients. Choosing your own clients (or “careseekers”) means you can form meaningful relationships with people you’re qualified to provide care for.

The ability to choose your clients has several benefits:

  1. Accept jobs nearby to spend less time commuting. Before you accept the booking request, you will be able to view their postal code, showing you the approximate location of the booking.

  2. Only work jobs you feel qualified for. If a careseeker requires job tasks outside of your training or capabilities, you can say no. No one knows your abilities better than yourself.

  3. If you get along with a client really well, you can keep working for them. Just as you can choose your clients, careseekers can choose their caregivers, and if the feeling is mutual, they’ll book you again.

    • Pro tip: If you feel that a booking has gone really well and you liked working for them, tell them! Message them by visiting your Inbox or let them know before you leave the booking.

  4. You can communicate with your careseeker before and after the booking to ask them any questions and clarify expectations. The more you get to know the careseeker and their needs, the easier it will be for both of you.

  5. Accept longer or shorter jobs. The minimum booking is one hour long so that you can make a significant impact at the booking, but bookings can be up to several hours.

  6. Work-life balance. You’ll never be required to take more bookings than you feel comfortable with.

  7. You can be your own boss - take control of your work schedule and work with the careseekers directly instead of going through middle-man management.

If you’re ready to start choosing your own clients, Alto can help. Alto connects caregivers with clients and provides the necessary support to facilitate meaningful, productive, successful client-caregiver relationships. Get started today by creating a free account.
